ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: Ikorodu Residents March Out Against PHCN on July 20

The entirety of Nigerians can bear testimony to the horrors unleashed on their lives by the failure of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) formerly known as the National Electric Power Authority and in extension, the failure of the Nigerian government.
Lives have been lost - Small scale companies have been frustrated into closing down and ultimately hopes and dreams have been destroyed by the perpetual darkness forced upon the populace by the PHCN.

It is on this premise that residents of 'First Gate Araromi' and 'Lambo Lasunwon' have decided to stage a peaceful protest on Friday, July 20, 2012 to the PHCN Odogunyan Business district office in Ikorodu.

This, we gathered, is aimed at drawing attention to the epileptic and erratic power supply that has since made life miserable for all and sundry.

According to a source who would be part of the protest, which is expected to begin at 9am, residents had been pushed to the wall.

"For so long now, the people of these communities have been suffering and dying in silence. Both small and medium
scale businesses are closing down and families are starving as a result of the seemingly permanent darkness and absence of electricity that has become a permanent part of our lives."

The protest, according to our source is meant to draw attention to those in authority to make them see and realise the level of destruction they have thrown residents of 'First Gate Araromi' and 'Lambo Lasunwon' into.

"we are tired of vain promises," our source added.
