Jubilation in Sokoto … As Notorious Robber Goes Back to Jail

Sani Dan-Hankaka. Remember the name? He is the 46-year-old suspected armed robber that voluntarily stormed the Sokoto State Police Command two years ago, confessed his sins, surrendered his weapons, including charms, and promised to live a responsible life and be far away from crime thereafter.
Daily Sun exclusively published the story in its July 12, 2010 edition after he was paraded with other armed bandits at the headquarters of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Sokoto. The then Police Public Relations Officer for the command, Mr. Lawan Abdullahi, described Dan-Hankaka as an unusual guest for the law enforcement agency.

He explained that the suspect surrendered himself in a remorseful manner.
