Mariah Carey Joins American Idols

It's official: The pop diva will join "American Idol" as a judge in season 12.

The 42-year-old will reportedly rake in around $17 million -- more than Jennifer Lopez made in her first year on the show.

The move comes after the announcement that Steven Tyler and J. Lo are both exiting the reality TV show.
