May/June Results Not Ready – WAEC
West African Examination Council, WAEC, yesterday, refuted reports that it has released the May/June 2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, results.
In a statement by its Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Yusuf Ari, the body said the marking of examination scripts had just been successfully concluded, noting that the results were yet to be officially released.
It said: “We wish to draw the attention of parents, guardians, schools and the general public to the false information in circulation that the results of the May/June 2012 WASSCE results have been released.
“Indeed, the marking of the scripts of the examination was just recently concluded by the Council. The Council is, however, working round the clock in order to release the results by August.
“Candidates and other stakeholders are, therefore, advised to be wary of falling victims to the schemes of fraudsters.”
