Osun Seeks Monarchs Support to Fight Rape
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Adetoun Adegboyega, said this at a news conference on Wednesday.
Commending the 14-year jail term for a 56-year-old rapist, Samuel Olatoke, by an Osogbo Magistrate’s court on Monday, Adegboyega stressed that the rape of a 14-year-old girl by Olatoke on June 11 was heinous.
Adegboyega added that plans were underway by the state to engage the support of traditional rulers in checking the trend.
