Another season of fun and excitement beckons as Nigeria’s favourite beer, Star lager, manufactured by leading brewing company, Nigerian Breweries Plc, gets set to kick off the 2012 edition of the Star TV Game Show.
This year, 21 lucky Nigerians will become instant millionaires courtesy of participating in the Star TV Game Show. Three lucky Nigerians will emerge weekly over a period of seven weeks. The unique consumer activation scheme, designed to reward loyal consumers of the brand, will run from August 21 to October 9, 2012.

The Game Show will feature three teams initially comprising 10 players in each group. The 10 players in each team will then be trimmed to three players per team via a lucky dip. The final three members of each team will then go head to head in a series of games specially adapted for the show.

The team which amasses the highest points at the end of the game will get N3 million as prize money - N1 million for each team member.

Members of the second and third placed teams will not go home empty handed as they will also be rewarded with fantastic cash prizes.

Speaking on the activation,Mr. Obabiyi Fagade, Brand Manager – Star, Nigerian Breweries Plc., stated that the Star TV Game Show was created to reward loyal consumers of Star lager beer. He said: “As the nation’s biggest beer brand, Star is always looking for new and exciting ways of connecting and rewarding loyal consumers.

That is what the Star TV Game Show is all about: rewarding loyal consumers of the product. It is all about bringing the brand closer to the consumers and generally exciting and rewarding them with fantastic cash prizes.”

According to Mr. Fagade, the Star TV Game Show’s uniqueness lies in the excitement and fun that it engenders. “As almost everyone is aware, Star is always in the business of rewarding consumer loyalty. That is why we have a whole lot of other reward initiatives for consumers”, he added.

Intending participants on the Star TV Game Show will be recruited through unique in-bar activations across the country. Star lager beer consumers in these bars will be rewarded with exciting prizes as well as an opportunity to win an all expense paid trip to the Star Gameshow where they could be on their way to winning the N1 million grand prize.

Mr. Fagade added that the lives of some participants have been changed as a result of participating in the Game Show in past editions. “We have had great shows in previous years where we changed the lives of several participants. We have rewarded ordinary Nigerians with one million in the past. We will be replicating the same thing this year,” he said.

The Star TV Game Show was introduced in 2003.
