Wife Accuses Husband of Killing their Four Children | Seeks Dissolution of 30-Year-Old Marriage

It was a candid case of being pushed against the wall for a certain middle aged woman who dragged her husband before a Lagos court and asked for the dissolution of their 30-year-old marriage.
This was precisely what happened when Mrs. Victoria Egbun filed for divorce against her husband at a Grade A Customary Court in Lagos.

In court, she openly accused her husband of being an unrepentant adulterer. She added that the man she once fell in love with had over the years become grossly irresponsible and always battered her at the slightest provocation to do so. She nailed the coffin when she told the court that the love she once had for him had since embarked on a journey of no return.

Narrating her ordeal to the court, Mrs. Egbun told the court that her husband was a very callous man who made them lose four out of their five children.

She explained that her husband’s nonchalant attitude, which resulted in the death of their four children had not ceased and had since been extended to their only surviving 12-year-old son.

She noted that his penchant for running after different women further helped her decide that a divorce was the only way out.

“He runs after different women irrespective of their ages; young and old,” she told the court.

She expressed fears over the safety of their only surviving son and appealed to the court to dissolve their union and also asked the court to grant her custody of their child for proper motherly care.

Despite series of hearing notices that were sent to him, her husband failed to appear before the court to defend the allegations leveled against him.

The Court President therefore dissolved the union and awarded the woman custody of the child.
