NFF Denies Receiving Stephen Keshi's Resignation

NFF Dispels Keshi's Resignation Rumour. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Media and Publicity Committee chairman, Emeka Inyama has stoutly denied receipt of Stephen Keshi's alleged letter of resignation as Super Eagles' head coach.

Keshi was quoted on Monday in an interview with Robert Marawa on a South African radio station, Metro FM as having resigned his appointment as Eagles' manager.

"I did what I feel is right by resigning. I gave the NFF letter last night (Sunday) after the celebrations," Keshi reportedly said.

Inyama who admitted hearing the purported resignation however said emphatically that the former Nigerian player remains the coach of the senior national team.

"As I speak with you the NFF has not received any letter of resignation from Keshi, he's still Super Eagles' manager until there is a formal letter from him to the contrary.

"Keshi has a running contract with the NFF, he just won the Nations Cup title which we last won 19 years ago and everybody is happy with him.

"The reported resignation is a rumour. We're not expected to react on the strength of the rumour. We're leaving Johannesburg tomorrow (Tuesday) on a chartered flight straight to Abuja where Mr President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan will host the team to a grand reception.

"We believe Keshi and his team will be physically present at the reception, so let's wait for the reception," Inyama said on Sports Tonight, a magazine programme on Channels Television.
