Chris Evans Returns as Captain America in The Winter Soldier

Marvel Studios has released the official trailer for one of its most anticipated films of 2014: "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Chris Evans once again returns to the role of the patriotic hero, who remains disconnected from the modern world after being frozen for 60 years. In the latest film in the Captain American series, the super soldier stands up for his ideals of justice and goes head to head with a formidable opponent from his past.

The trailer provides a first glimpse at the characters played by Robert Redford and Anthony Mackie, two newcomers to the Marvel universe. The latter actor plays the Falcon, a social worker who will become a valuable ally to Captain America. Scarlett Johansson also has a strong presence in the trailer, as the super soldier's main partner, the Black Widow.

Anthony and Joe Russo, the directing duo behind "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," are aiming to deliver a film with the look and feel of a 1970s political thriller. Robert Redford's presence on the cast may be seen as a nod to some of the 1970s classics he starred in, such as "Three Days of the Condor" and "All the President's Men. The film will be released in US theatesr on April 4, 2014.
