Batman: Arkham Knight screenshot unleashes the Batmobile

Rocksteady Studios released a new screenshot from Batman: Arkham Knight. The image shows Batman's vehicle at work.

"Batman and the Batmobile wage a one-man war against the Arkham Knight’s militia in this brand new community-exclusive screenshot," Rocksteady said on Facebook.

The titular Arkham Knight is a brand-new villain. He wears a suit of armor partially based on Batman's, though with the logo of Arkham Asylum on the chest. Some believed that the Arkham Knight was actually Jason Todd, a former Robin. However, Todd will be appearing in the game as Red Hood. If the Arkham Knight's some other existing character from Batman lore, it's probably someone else then.

The Batmobile is a central feature of Batman: Arkham Knight. Players can drive the Batmobile to quickly travel across Gotham City. It's a good thing, too, because Arkham Knight's world is five times the size of Arkham City's. The vehicle's eject function propels them into the air so they can glide to their destination.
I'm really digging the design of the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. It's somewhere between the Tumbler in the Christopher Nolan films and the sleek cruiser of Batman: The Animated Series. It looks heavily-armed and agile at the same time. In sum, it's the sort of vehicle you can imagine Batman designing.

In this screenshot, it looks like the Batmobile's about to mow down these henchmen. However, the Dark Knight refuses to kill criminals. Instead, he uses the Batmobile's Riot Suppressor to knock out enemies with poylmer rounds. Tasers lining the side of the Batmobile will zap any hostiles that get too close. That prevents Batman from running over criminals with his ride. You can't kill Gotham's low-lives even if you try.
The Batmobile has heavier armaments, like a 60mm cannon and armour-piercing Vulcan gun. However, Batman only uses those weapons when he encounters unmanned drones. It seems he never encounters drones or human enemies at the same time, which prevents any kind of moral dilemma.
Batman: Arkham Knight was recently delayed to early 2015. The Microsoft Store listing suggested that the game will hit PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 24th.
