Why Kim Kardashian considered adoption

"I think you can't just go to an orphanage and fall in love with a child and then take them home like you're shopping," Kris Jenner told Kardashian.

Kim Kardashian considered adopting a child during her family trip to Thailand earlier this year.

In a clip from the vacation shown on Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the 33-year-old reality star appears at the beach telling her mother Kris Jenner and her stepbrother Brandon that she "literally cannot stop thinking about" a girl name Pink she met at an orphanage the family visited.

"I told Kanye, I was like, 'Honestly, this girl is so sweet and so cute. ... I would totally adopt her," Kardashian said.

Kardashian and West are already parents to 1-year-old North, and while the clip does not show the rapper's response to Kardashian's idea, her mother is quick to disapprove when the reality star shares her thoughts.

"That's a little aggressive," Kris told her daughter. "I think you can't just go to an orphanage and fall in love with a child and then take them home like you're shopping."

After Kardashian explained that's not how she felt, Kris proposed a different way for Kardashian to help Pink.

"You get very passionate about things and then you don't think about the whole thing through," she said. "I bet there are other things that you could do that would make all the difference in this little girl's life... without bringing her home."

Later in the episode, Kardashian and her mother speak to the hotel manager about the possibility of adopting Pink, and were told that they "can't adopt here in Thailand." The two, however, were informed about other ways they can help the children and end up buying toys and a pool for the orphanage.
