Wiz Khalifa gets all romantic & stuff on ‘Promises’

After serving up a hit for the trap club with ‘We Dem Boyz’ Wiz Khalifa‘s does a little ditty for the ladies with his new song ‘Promises.’

Decidedly soft and romantic on ‘Promises’ Wiz goes full on balladeer, crooning about his gift for handling his woman just the way she likes it in the bedroom. Synthesized strings and slow, subdued percussion make for an emo pop song with mega hit potential that bears only nominal resemblance to conventional rap. Tender Trap anyone?
