As registration for Gulder Ultimate Search 8 enters its third week, Nigerian Breweries Plc, organisers of the reality TV show, have announced an explosion in the number of interested applicants. For instance, over 10,000 Nigerians successfully registered to participate in the programme in the first week alone.

Senior Brand Manager, Gulder, Mr. Ita Bassey said, “in the first one week, the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) website successfully registered over 10,000 individuals who are interested in participating in this year’s edition. This is an indication that this year’s GUS, which is the eighth in the series, will be highly successful. I however urge those that are still interested in registering to do so, as registration will close on Friday, August 19. They need to avoid the last minute rush in order not to miss out on the fun and excitement and most importantly cash rewards which this year’s edition of GUS promises.”

He added that the deadline will not be extended as the second phase of GUS 8 will commence immediately the period of registration closes. He noted: “Going by GUS tradition, the process of selection of potential candidates will commence immediately after the registration. Aside from the strength and determination to succeed, contestants should have attributes of confidence, courage and determination. This will aid them in their quest for the ultimate prize.”

In order to boost the chances of Nigerians wishing to participate in the reality TV show this year, Gulder has opened registration booths at The Palms Mall, Lekki, Lagos. This saves intending participants the rigour of registering on the website. According to Bassey “We decided to provide the facilities to enable physical registration this year. Though the on-line registration has been simplified, we recognise that some people may not just find the time to register on-line. The GUS registration stand will be stationed once a week at the popular Palms Mall, Lekki, Lagos. Officials are on ground to guide prospective applicants on the procedure for filling out the forms.”

Already GUS 8 registration booth at the Palms Shopping Mall has attracted several individuals who are taking advantage to register for a slot in this year’s edition. Commending the organisers, Ikenna Okoludo, a photographer, who took advantage of the GUS booth to register said: “Last year, I tried, but I was not fortunate. This year, I believe I will be fortunate, especially now that I have the opportunity of writing down my name here. I hope this will work for me, since the internet registration method did not work for me last year.”
