Finally, Jahbless reaps the fruit of his labour

After years of battling the tides of a solo career without 9ice, Jahbless finally received a golden thumbs up from music fans across the country and beyond as he picked up the award for ‘Best Street Hop’ at the 2011 edition of The Headies. For Jahbless, this was clearly far from being a walk in the park considering the caliber of opposition (Olamide, Konga, Samklef and Wizboyy) he had to contend with in the award category.

Those ho have followed Jahbless and his turbulent career would agree that as his position as 9ice’s back up singer did not give his musical journey the kind of boost many would have expected. Rather, this proved to be counterproductive over the years until he shed the rose of playing second fiddle, took the bull by the horn and rode into the clouds of success on the strength of his abilities.

His hit single, ‘Joor Oh (Remix) featuring Ruggedman, Ice Prince, Durella, Reminisce & Eldee remains a grand testament to how far he can go without the ‘9ice’ touch.
