The Genesis Deluxe Cinemas (GDC) situated at The Palms Shopping Mall in Lekki, Lagos recently played host to the premiere of a Nigerian movie shot in New York, ‘Unwanted Guest.’
Shortly after the red carpet session, celebrities and guests invited for the movie converged in the cinema hall to view the highly anticipated movie directed by popular director, Damiel Ademinokan.
Unfortunately, after spending two hours inside the cinema hall, not a single guest or celebrity had seen the movie to an end despite the fact that the movie had been scheduled to be screened for its original duration of one hour forty minutes.
At different intervals during the screening of the movie during the premiere, the picture would suddenly hang and cease playing.
Initially, the cinema’s technically team attended to resolve the technical hitch with no visible success. At the end of the movie, guests had no choice as they filed out of the cinema hall.
Efforts to reach the cinema’s spokes person for an explanation proved abortive as he could not be reached on his mobile line yet no official explanation was tendered for the truncated screening.
The Director of the movie, Ademinokan and the producer, Chuck Ajoku expressed their unreserved displeasure at the cinema’s conduct.
“How can they do this? People are here to see this movie yet they can’t see it to the end,” said Ademinokan.
Stunning story there. What occurred after? Good luck!
