EVE: Memories That Bring Tears To Her Eyes

Have you ever had to sit at the window; jacket on and fully dressed ass a child and waiting for your dad (separated from your mum) to come and pick you up for a 5pm outing? And guess what? By 5:10, he's still nowhere in sight.

Of course you miss him so bad and you've been looking forward to this day for two weeks.

It's 6pm and dad is still nowhere to be seen yet you remain sitting by that window; fully dressed and waiting for daddy.

It 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and then it finally dawns on you - daddy is never going to show up and you cry your eyes out.

This is what American rap star, Eva had to endure as a kid and she gets my respect to have gone through all of this and still come out shiny and admired by millions.


This however, takes nothing away from the fact that her dad remains of her biggest musical influences till date.

Today, music critics all over the world have prominently tagged her the Pitbull in a skirt.

Let's celebrate this charming singer. it's 2012 and she's 34 years old.

So, if you ever enjoyed the company of both dad and mum as a kid, you have no idea how lucky you were.


 Eve Jihan Jeffers (born November 10, 1978) is an American rapper-songwriter, record producer and actress. Her first three albums have sold over 8 million copies worldwide.

She has also achieved success in fashion with her clothing line, Fetish.

She is the inaugural winner of the Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2002 for the song "Let Me Blow Ya Mind", with Gwen Stefani. Eve was number 48 on VH1's "50 Greatest Women Of The Video Era" list.

As an actress, Eve is best known for her roles as Terri Jones in the films Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business, and as Shelley Williams on the UPN television sitcom Eve.
