My Roommate Tried to Kill Me
Dennis was sleeping when his bloodthirsty roommate walks in at 3 in the morning. Something terrible was about to happen...
Once upon a time, I was in the military when someone tried to kill me.
I wasn’t fighting Nazis, Boko Haram or radical Islamic terrorists when it happened. I was in the barracks, in my room; sleeping.
My roommate came in at 3 in the morning; drunk as a skunk. He yelled at me to wake up.
I ungraciously told him I was tired and didn’t want to.
I suddenly felt rough hands seize me and flung me against the wall.
When my head cleared, I realized that there was a switchblade tucked up into my nostril.
He screamed at me that he was hurting inside, and I was f..king up.
Meet My Roommate
He had five brothers; all older than him, 4 of whom were in prison for criminal activities. The only brother he had who wasn’t in prison was in the Army and guess what? He had just found out that his Army brother stabbed somebody and had just been sent to prison.
He was starting to rant about making it to where he and his siblings would be in prison.
I tried to talk him down, but he wasn’t having it. So, survival mode kicked in.
He attacked me and we wrestled around the room.
The fight only lasted a minute, but the time slowed to forever. Furniture was broken, holes were made in walls.
Did I mention that the whole time we were fighting, I was doing my best not to get stabbed?
When senior officers came in, they brought MPs with them.
They came in to find me straddling my roommate and punching him with reckless abandon.
My roommate's face was mangled, and he was out cold but I had a switchblade sticking out of my left arm.
I don’t remember much of the fight after the blade entered my arm though.
An investigation was carried out and I was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Wondering what happened to my roommate?
Well, he was found guilty and eventually sent to jail.
Moral of the Story:
Sometimes, it is the smallest decision that can change your life forever. His (antagonist) decision to get drunk, the fight that followed and getting sent to jail formed an alliance to change his life.
