Silverbird Man of the Year

Sanusi emerges Silverbird Man of the Year 2010

Coming on the heels of his outstanding performance as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as well as series of achievements that have trailed his tenure in office, CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has emerged Silverbird Man of the Year 2010.

Sanusi was voted en masse by Nigerians via text messaging.

Interestingly, most Nigerians who received the news unanimously held the argument that his emergence as Silverbird Man of the Year was based on his frankness and fearlessness in policy formulation.

More importantly, they believed his recent revelation about how twenty five per cent of the National Budget is spent on Federal Legislators also played a vital role.

Other contenders for the prestigious Award in 2010 were Aliko Dangote (Chairman Dangote Group), Funke Osibodu (CEO Union bank PLC), Olusegun Aganga (Minister of Finance), Ahmadu Giade (NDLEA Chairman) and Funke Opeke (CEO Main One Cable).

The Silverbird Man of the Year was initiated in 2006 to celebrate outstanding and extraordinary Nigerians.

Former winners of the prestigious award include Prof. Dora Akunyuli (2006), Mallam Nasir El – Rufai (2007), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu (2008), Adams Oshiomhole (2009).
