Rave singer, Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ice has declared an open war against pirates operating within the country.

Simply Samad recently reported how Sony Music and 9ice had deliberately and strategically delayed the release of his highly anticipated album in a bid to curb the activities of pirates as well as ensure that the album reaches the peak of musical and commercial success.

However, contrary to the expectations of 9ice and his Sony Music team, pirates within the country instantly swung into action the moment they got wind of the fact that 9ice’s album had been scheduled for a March release date.

According to 9ice’s manager, Oladeinde Fajana, a lot of the pirates in Lagos had already began producing fake copies of 9ice’s yet-to-be- released album and had already fooled a lot of unwary Nigerians into buying the fake album.

In a move to check the illegitimate activities of the pirates behind 9ice’s pirated works, his manager, accompanied by men of the Nigerian Police Force recently stormed pirate hideouts especially those within the Mushin axis of Lagos.

Simply Samad also gathered that quite a number of the pirates were arrested and are presently in police custody.

“A lot of arrests were made in Mushin but the March date earlier scheduled for 9ice’s four-in-one album still stands,” Fajana said.
