KAREN IGHO WINS BIG BROTHER AMPLIFIED - Gets $200, 000 richer - Samod Biobaku writes

Karen Igho wins Big Brother Amplified
· Becomes $200, 000 richer
By Samod Biobaku
After weeks of heart-wrenching criticism and support from her home country, one of Nigeria’s ambassadors at the just-concluded Big Brother Amplified (BBA) reality TV show, Karen Igho has emerged the third Nigerian tom win the show.
In addition to emerging the latest winner of the show, Karen also became $200, 000 richer.
At the exchange rate of N153 to a Dollar (according to fx-rate; an online platform that posts current exchange rates), this makes Karen N30, 600, 000 (thirty million six hundred thousand Naira) richer.

What the busty model, dancer and entertainer will do with her new-found fortune is a question that will be dealt with in the coming days but at the moment, we’ll join millions of other Nigerians and the rest of the world in congratulating our ambassador for adding another ‘feather’ to the nations cap of popularity.

Karen alongside her Zimbabwean Housemate Windall emerged winners at the Big Brother Amplified finale. They would get $200, 000 each.

To ardent Nigerian watchers of the show, Karen was the opposite of the Nigerian character. Her guts, swags, actions and inactions, earned her much critiques here in Nigeria.
But amid this hatred from countrymen, Karen emerged victorious.
Though most Nigerians hated her guts and called her all sorts of names, they said she represented the country in the BBA reality show for all the wrong reasons just because she allegedly chose to be herself which, interestingly, is the essence of Big Brother worldwide.
While her country men and women proved her biggest critics, viewers from other lands adored her; they cheered and applauded all her actions and mannerism in the house.

Having grabbed the $200, 000 grand prize, she has become the third Nigerian, in a row, to have become millionaires courtesy of Mnet and its Big Brother TV reality show.

The first Nigerian to win the $200, 000 which is usually at stake was Kevin Pam; he won the 2009 edition. His pioneering feat was repeated by Uti Nwachukwu who smiled home to Nigeria in 2010 from South Africa with $200, 000 when he was declared the winner of Big Brother All Stars.
For Karen, who made headlines news back here on account of her heavily-enhanced breasts and outspoken nature, life would never be the same again.

Her holier-than-thou critics failed to realise that in a reality show like BBA that has life-changing monetary prize at stake, every contestant and, in this case, housemates, come into the show armed with strategy on how to outwit each other to win the money involved.

The other Nigerian that made it to the finals, Vina received no country vote and got evicted first, Hannie, Lomwe and Sharon O had one country vote each and were also evicted. The same fate befell Luclay who had two country votes. Karen with six country votes and Wendall with four country votes were named winners of the Amplified Big Brother Africa season. While Karen had votes from Nigeria, Angola, Rest of Africa, Ghana, Mozambique and Tanzania, Wendall’s votes came from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Kenya.

  1. congratulations to karen,it's so welcoming to sustain the winning streak for nija,in the big brother series. However Samad seems to sound like a pro Karen Igho, and he can go to any sentimental length to defend her actions and inactions.Whatever reasons for doing whatever, let's dwell on the good side of things anyway.Peace to Karen,Big brother,Africa,Nija, entertainment and people...lovers and haters

  3. Karen Igho got Nigeria love. Did you even check the stats of her votes. Leading the pack is Nigeria. We had 2 choices in Vina and she yet we opted for her. That explains a lot of things so please rewrite the bit about her countrymen not giving her support. Thx
