The year was 2009, the venue as Club Aqua situated in Victoria Island in Lagos and the event was 2 Face’s Unstoppable album launch.

The first time I saw her, she had her back turned to me; having a conversation with a couple of ladies just on the tip of 2 Face’s red carpet. My gaze hardly tarried on her for too long as she came across as just another pretty young lady out to have fun and equally unwind.

However, the moment she wrapped up the conversation and turned to my direction, I instantly knew there was no way the night would pass without speaking to her. The first thing that arrested my attention about her was her breast. Not that they were the biggest or the most enormous I’ve ever seen but indeed, there was something different about the way her breasts stretched against the chest region of her short black gown, her visible cleavage and the bounce of her breasts made them look like freshly pumped volley balls.

Without minding the swelling population of guests, celebrities and press around her, I took a step in her direction and decided to find out who this busty yet seemingly mysterious young lady was.

In a flash, I was right in front of her and as she slowly turned her eyes to meet mine, I offered a courteous “Hi!” She responded warmly and I swiftly introduced myself as an entertainment writer and threw her a dashing smile. She equally smiled back and introduced herself as Karen Igho. I knew I had limited time on my hands so I made judicious use of it by asking her if I could have a snap media chat with her. Just after she introduced herself as a U.K-based model, she appeared to be reading my thoughts as she revealed to me that her breasts were silicon-filled.

Did you google me? (After I answered in the affirmative, she said): So, what did they say about Karen? What’s the story? (Before I could even respond, she answered the question herself with another question) That I’ve got fake boobs? I know.
I did. Why should I hide it? It cost me over one million Naira and I make good money with it.”
The more she talked about it, the harder I found it hard to tear my eyes away from the pretty tattoo sitting enticingly on her exposed cleavage.

Rolling her eyes and lowering her vocal projection down to a whisper in a manner that could fire up erotic thoughts, Igho reveals, “I have ten tattoos on various parts of my body. I’m very bold and I’m not scared of anything. I’m very very bold and I’m not scared,” she said.

My chat with Karen Igho didn’t last for as long as I would have wanted it to but before our chat truncated, she made it clear that she didn’t really care what people had to say about her. At this point, I knew I had just spoken to a young lady who was keen on living her life precisely the way she wanted it; without allowing anyone dictate to her the path she should follow.

Between 2009 and now, so much has happened in the life of this Big Brother Amplified winner. Today, she’s back in the country and has embarked on activities, trips and projects scheduled to run into the end of 2011.

Her participation in the recently concluded Big Brother Amplified Reality TV show threw a whole lot of light on her personality. As we all know, not everyone was able to watch the show at all times for different reasons. As such, majority could only watch bits and pieces of the show.

One part of the show that millions of viewers apparently missed was what some have tagged Karen’s episode of confession. This was one point of the show where Karen Igho revealed a softer and vulnerable side of her personality.

‘Maestromedia’ captured this moment and has revealed details of the model cum actress’ growing up days and some of the horrid challenges she had to contend with as a child.

Titled ‘confessions,’ Karen Igho spoke about details many missed during the show. Speaking to two housemates, the normally boisterous Igho spoke of her difficult growing up years. She revealed that at age 7, an uncle of hers attempted to have carnal knowledge of her; even at that young age.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, she added that this was not the only close shave she had with rapists. At age 9, a much older family friend of hers, whom she said was about 6 ft 1 wanted to lure her to bed because she had asked him for money.

As many already know, her mother gave birth to her at age 16 but Karen Igho went on to say both her parents were not prepared for her birth. She revealed that she spent most of her growing up years with her grandmother; adding that it was even her grandma that breastfed her while she was still an infant as her mum’s breasts couldn't produce milk because she was too young.

She also said she was not really very familiar with her dad and as such, didn't have much of a father figure around her while she was growing up. According to her, she was raised by her grandma in the village while her dad died when she was 14 years old.

Against the odds, Karen also mentioned that her grand-dad was a great man; who in his lifetime married 7 wives and still had kids much younger than Karen while still alive.

On a darker note, she spoke about an uncle of hers; whose friend nearly lured her into armed robbery and how the friend (her uncle’s) was later caught and was shot dead by the police.

Karen Igho also spoke about how much her mom had to struggle to take care of her and her siblings and how a lot of things about her have changed forever.

Today, she’s N30.6 million richer and the future looks even brighter for her considering the quality of reception she received upon her return to Nigeria.
She recently addressed the media the same day she returned to the country. When we however sought to ask her to shed more light on details of her past through an interview, she declined on grounds that she was already late for an appointment at a Lagos studio.
