If you’re one of those blessed with the talent to transform food stuff and ingredients into mouth watering dishes then you now have a grand opportunity to enjoy what you love and get rewarded for it.

World renowned chef, Chef Edwin Scholly and his Rhodium LLC U.S.A teams recently arrived in the country in search of a Nigerian with a real passion for cooking.

For those who might not know Chef Scholly, he remains one of the world’s most prominent chefs and has served the her majesty, the Queen of England, former American presidents like Bill Clinton, George Bush (both) and has been a personal chef to Donald Trump, Madonna, Gart Brooks, Sir Paul Mc Cartney, Bruce Springstein and many others.

Away from his list of clients, which would make any chef go green with envy, chef Scholly and the Rhodium LLC U.S.A (Creators of Titanium Chef in U.S.A) has launched a reality TV show aimed at discovering a Nigerian with a passion for cooking and transforming the winner of the cooking competition into a world class chef.

Teaming up with Daniel Ademinokan’s ROK Productionz, the show, ‘Making of a Chef’ will reward the winner with $30, 000 and a trip to Italy to be trained by Master Chefs.

At a media briefing in Lagos, Chef Scholly, his manager, Moses Edewor of Rhodium LLC U.S.A (Creators of Titanium Chef in the U.S.A), Daniel Ademinokan of ROK Productionz and Olugbenga Komolafe of PR/Consultant Africa for Rhodium LLC U.S.A shed light how the show came about and how interested Nigerians can participate and other details.

Ademinokan explained that he met Chef Scholly in Washington DC, discussed the concept of the show, one thing led to another and he was engaged to produce the show in Nigeria. “Chef is in town to make people understand that the show is for real. It’s not one of those ghost shows that people just talk about and never happens. What Chef plans to do is to screen people across Nigeria; from Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt and get people who are interested in cooking – people who have a passion for cooking.

“We’ll have a minimum of 20 people in the house and at the end of the day, we’ll have one ultimate winner who will end up with $30, 000. In addition, the winner gets to go to Italy and gets trained by a Master Chef and then goes on to build a career from there to become a world class chef.”

To apply for the show, Ademinokan explained that forms would be available from September 5, 2011 at designated banks. “Screening will take place in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Screening will commence two weeks after the forms become available for sale. The actual filming will happen in Lagos at the end of September. We’re shooting 13 episodes, which is a standard in TV. That shouldn’t take more than 6 weeks to shoot.”
