The 2011 edition of the Headies was indeed a bag of mixed blessing for Mo Hits act, Dr. SID.

While it presented him an opportunity to win his first award ever, it also proved to stretch his patience, which apparently appeared in very short supply.

After Dr. SID picked up his first award, he went on to pick a second one as well but the tables turned from charming to unpleasant for the singer when the time came for him to perform.

Trouble began when Dr. SID was made to wait on stage for close to five minutes while he stood still (backing the audience) and waited endlessly for the Disc Jockey to cue in his song. Yet Dr. SID remained standing; backing the crowd.

This took so long, it became embarrassing for both Dr. SID and the audience. Some creative members of the crowd began to clap their hands in unison as they waited for eternity for the song play to initiate Dr. SID’s performance. Still, Dr. SID stood.

Unfortunately, when the song finally began playing, the Disc Jockey again threw a clog in the wheel of Dr. SID’s performance by cueing the wrong song and it hardly came as a surprise when midway into his performance, Dr. SID suddenly ground to a halt, ceased performing, walked up to the DJ, uttered something inaudible to the DJ and then faced the audience to apologise and inform them that he could no longer continue with the performance. He however added that he would repeat the performance the moment things were put in order. Thereafter, he walked right off the stage.

Forgetting he had his mic on, as he walked off the stage, his anger and dark side got the better of him and he screamed ‘fuck’ in frustration but it was too late to take back the words. We understand his frustrations but he didn’t have to go as far as using the ‘F’ work with such reckless abandon.
