After a seemingly endless war with
the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), comic actor, Babatunde Omidina
popularly known as Baba Suwe has become N25 million richer as an Ikeja High
Court has ordered the anti-drug agency to pay him the sum of N25 million as
damages.
According to the court, the N25
million is expected to serve as damages to the actor for being unlawfully
detained in NDLEA custody for over three weeks and accusing him of drug
trafficking.
In addition to this, the NDLEA has
also been ordered to tender a public apology to the actor in two national
dailies.
As this expensive drama continues
to unfold, many have opened wondered how long it would take the NDLEA to pay
Baba Suwe the N25 million or whether they would even pay up at all.
