Eviction galore trails Gulder Ultimate Search 8

* Oldest contestant, banker evicted
By Samod Biobaku

The oldest contender in Gulder Ultimate Search 8, Ezeoba Okoroafor, has been evicted from the on-going reality TV show.
Also evicted was Patience Ihongbe, a banker who took an unpaid leave to enable her participate in the reality TV show. In addition to these two, a third contender, Lilian Ebhonhon, was also shown the way out of the reality TV show.

Okoroafor, 28, became the fourth contender to be evicted from Batch C after a dismal performance in the task assigned to the group.
Eze’s eviction will come as a surprise to many given his confident attitude during his stay in the Ososo jungle. Prior to his elimination, the Imo State born contender did not fail to tell anybody that cared to listen that he was the contender to beat. It did not help that he was always infuriating his fellow contenders with his cocky disposition. He was also unsympathetic to evicted contenders, especially Chimaobi Ebobi, who he taunted after her eviction was announced by Bob Manuel Udokwu at the place of the talking drum. Little surprise he got no sympathy when he was eventually evicted.
Eze’s eviction did not come without drama. The task required the contenders to run through hurdles to a set of symbols arranged in a particular order. After memorizing the arrangement of the symbols, they were then required to run back to the starting point and replicate the arrangement with symbols provided for them.
All the other contenders completed their task before Eze and Lillian. Though Lillian completed the task first she erroneously completed Eze’s symbols. Still, both were eliminated for being the last two to complete the task.
Patience’s impatience cost her an automatic chance to compete in the Gulder Ultimate Search Contest of Champions. Even though the task required adeptness and patience, she embarked on the task with brashness and lack of thoroughness.
For the mentioned task, each of the contenders had to assemble a ladder using mallets and pegs. They would then use the ladder to climb a high platform upon which was erected eight wooden poles, one less than the number of contenders. The flags could only be raised by cutting a rope holding them. Getting the ladder proved to be the most difficult aspect of the task. They had to scale across a cargo net to reach bags containing wooden pegs and then move on to another area in the jungle to assemble the ladders. They were to assemble the ladders using the pegs and a mallet and then climb the platform before cutting the ropes holding the flags. The contender without a flag would be deemed the loser thus Patience’s poor performance led to her automatic eviction.
 So far, four contenders have been eliminated from batch C. Three more will also be evicted, leaving three automatic qualifiers to proceed to the Contest of Champions.
