It was supposed to be the day globally set aside for the celebration of the birth of Christ but here in Nigeria, certain blood-thirsty demons in human skin and working under the dreaded Boko Haram movement once again struck terror into the hearts of its citizenry on Christmas Day.

In three separate attacks in Abuja (the Capital Territory), Jos and Yobe, several lives were lost.

In the early hours of Christmas Day (2011), a report came through on the first attack and it read thus:
A bomb blast has ripped through a church during Christmas prayers in Abuja, Nigeria.
It is not known how many people have been hurt but witnesses described a huge explosion from the direction of the church.
"Explosion in St. Theresa Church close to Abuja," said Yushau Shuaib, spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency of the blast in the Madalla area.
"There are casualties, but we can't talk about figures for now."
People were inside the church celebrating Christmas at the time of the blast.
There is no immediate claim of responsibility.
Nigeria has been hit by a string of bomb blasts and shootings attributed to Muslim sect Boko Haram.

Barely six hours afterwards, an update came up on the bomb blasts.
News Flash: Another explosion has rocked a Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) church in Murtala Mohammed Way, Jos, central north Nigeria's Plateau State, today.
Details are still sketchy for now. The Jos explosion is coming a few hours after some unidentified suicide bombers allegedly attacked a Catholic Church in Madalla, an Abuja suburb on Xmas Day, killing over 25 people and leaving several others injured.

As if this wasn't bad enough, the terrorist group decided to score a devilish hat trick with yet another explosion in Yobe State.
Another explosion has hit Pompomari Ndjamena area of Damaturu, northeast Nigeria's Yobe State. This time, three suicide bombers were involved, according to a NEMA official who confirmed the incident. This is the third explosion in Nigeria this black Christmas Day, following two loud explosions in a Catholic Church near Abuja and another Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) church in Jos.
