For those who have been following earlier articles on popular Nollywood Director, Daniel Ademinokan, they would surely feel his pain as he and members of his family have wrapped up plans to bury his father, Pa Richard Ademinokan who was aged 72 today.

According to the director, funeral arrangements for late Pa Richard Ademinokan began with a wake keep yesterday (Wednesday, December 21, 2011) at Obele Odan Community Centre situated at Fuja Street, Off Randle Avenue, Surulere, Lagos.

The final burial holds today Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Atan Cemetery, University Road, Akoka, Lagos at 10am prompt. Reception follows at his residence.
“God bless you as you come and show your support and pay last respects to my dad,” he noted.

However, for those who have not been following the fate of the film director in recent times, then it might interest them to know that barely 19 days to Christmas, the award-winning Nollywood director and actor was thrown into a mournful state of mind following the death of his father.

In a chat with the popular director, he had earlier confirmed his dad’s demise in the early hours of December 6, 2011.

We gathered that Pa Ademinokan had been ill for some time prior to his death. He is survived by children and grandchildren.

Besides his father’s death’s, we had earlier called on Nigerians (both at home and in the Diaspora) and the rest of the world to pray for the father of one given the string of calamitous incidents that trailed him in the first six days of December 2012.

Many would recall that on December 1, 2011, he was robbed at gun point by blood-thirsty armed robbers along Ikorodu Road in Lagos and miraculously survived being shot in the head point blank.

A few days after the incident, the producer and actor was on his way to Asaba and had boarded the aircraft when the pilot announced that the plane was leaking hydraulic. As expected, they were promptly ushered out of the plane for safety precautions.

As few days afterwards, his dad (Pa Richard Ademinokan) took ill and eventually gave up the ghost on December 6, 2011 age the age of 72.

Many would hurriedly tag these as a mere coincidence but we urge Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora to say a short prayer for the talented film maker who has imperially placed the nation on the international map of recognition via the brilliant movies he has churned out.

Till date, he remains the first and only director of Nigeria’s two-cast movie and recently director a Nigerian movie shot in New York, Unwanted Guest and even more recently, worked with Nollywood diva, Stella Damasus in a Nigerian flick shot in Cameroon.

Ademinokan is happily married to Doris Simeon Ademinokan and has a son named David Ademinokan.
