Update on 3rd Mainland Bridge accident

Hi...This is a message from Hon. Opeifa, Com. for Transport, Lagos State following the the accident on 3rd Mainland Bridge in the early hours of December 18, 2011.

We have just recovered the Private Refuse Truck with an inscription of Oluwapinre & registration number: XZ 470 AAA rammed into an Acura Legend saloon car with registration number: JL 358 EKY on motion as a result of mechanical defect ( steering wheel of the truck pulled off) such that one of the occupants of the car fell into the Lagoon at UNILAG axis inward Iyana Oworo.The man had been rescued from the lagoon while the driver of the car survived from the mangled car but the lady beside him didn't. The driver of the Highway Manager truck has now been detained at Oworonshoki Police Station. While the survivors are at Gbagada General Hospital.
