Beyoncé denies spending $1.3 MILLION for bulletproof maternity wing

·       As father complains the singer's security team 'barred him from seeing premature twins in hospital's intensive care-unit'

Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z have denied taking over a maternity wing, installing bulletproof glass and ultra-tight security, for the birth of their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

But a father whose wife gave birth to premature twins at the same hospital maintains the Destiny Child singer's security kept him from seeing his newborns.
The 30-year-old singer's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, arrived at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City on Saturday night.
Neil Coulon, 39, of Brooklyn said the stress of his wife Rosalyn delivering two premature girls was tripled when Beyoncé's towering bodyguards allegedly barred him from the sixth-floor neonatal intensive care unit.
Coulon told the New York Daily News that the power couple's security allegedly cleared a waiting room of his relatives - some who drove four and a half hours to the Manhattan hospital to see his newborn twin girls - and described the star as treating the hospital like 'an exclusive nightclub'.
'Three times they stopped me from entering or exiting the NICU and it happened once on Friday - just because they wanted to use the hallway,' he claimed.
It has been alleged that the couple spent $1.3 million (£842,000) to seal off and redecorate a wing, complete with bulletproof glass and ultra-tight security measures.
But a hospital spokesperson released a statement today, saying it was 'simply not true'.
'The family is housed in an executive suite at the hospital and is being billed the standard rate for those accommodations.'
'The family does have its own security detail on site. However, the hospital has been and continues to be in control of managing all security at the facility,' the spokesperson said.
'We have made every effort to ensure minimal disruption to other families experiencing the births of their own children over the past three days.'
Mr Coulson, from the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, (where Jay-Z hails from) wants an apology from the stars.
He said he was appalled at the double standard.
'I know they spent $1.3million and I'm just a contractor from Bed-Stuy but the treatment we received was not okay.
'My wife is just terribly upset. She had a C-section. She gave birth to twins. She is sore. Nobody needs this.
'This is the NICU. Nobody cares if you’re a celebrity. Nobody is star-gazing. They just want to see their children. To have that circus roll into town and ruin our parade was unpleasant.'
A source at the hospital told the paper: 'Some people were upset. I heard a gentleman say he couldn’t go upstairs to see his baby'.
Meanwhile, a Boston-area event planning company has been flooded with calls because its name is also Blue Ivy, reported TMZ.
Owner Veronica Alexandra said she been getting phone calls, texts and Facebook posts from friends since the baby's name was announced.
Before this weekend, her site came up first when someone Googled the name.
She told the website she'd love to plan all of the little girl's milestone celebrations and even said the baby should be the new face of her company.
'Clearly great minds think alike, and who better than our Blue Ivy to plan events for B&J's Blue Ivy?'
The couple's close friend Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed the baby's name on Twitter, writing: 'Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already.'
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, was by Beyonce's side during the birth, according to E! Online.
A source told Beyoncé's hometown newspaper Houston Chronicle that 'mother and baby are doing fine'.
The baby's middle name Ivy may be in reference to Beyoncé and Jay-Z's love of the number 4.
They married on April 4, 2008, Beyoncé's latest album is called 4 and the couple have matching tattoos of the roman numeral for 4 - IV - on their wedding fingers.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z were also born on September 4 and December 4 respectively.
Regarding Blue, Jay-Z has a trilogy of albums with the word in the title. The Blueprint was released in 2001 around the time he got together with Beyoncé, The Blueprint2: The Gift & The Curse came out in 2002 and The Blueprint 3 in 2009.
Incidentally, there had been rumours in the Noughties that Jay-Z had dated Hit 'Em Up Style singer Blu Cantrell which she later denied, but admitted that she had a 'major crush' on him.
Despite initial confusion the baby was named Ivy Blue, E! reporter Ken Baker later clarified friends of the couple confirmed the newborn was actually called Blue Ivy.
The singer's younger sister Solange tweeted yesterday: 'The most beautiful girl in the world.' While other celebrities tweeted their congratulations to the couple, including hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Rihanna.
Us Weekly reported Beyoncé's sister Solange and parents Tina and Mathew Knowles arrived at the hospital holding 'flowers with pink balloons and silver and black ribbons.'
Jay-Z was also seen walking through the hospital halls looking 'happy' an observer said.

While a spokesperson for the power couple - who are said to be worth $750million - was not available for comment, security is said to have been tightened at the hospital.
Hospital workers were asked to turn in their mobile phones and security cameras have been covered with packing tape, according to the news site.
At one point, a doctor was heard complaining the heavy security meant he couldn't check up on his patients properly.
TMZ reports that security for Beyonce's stay at the hospital involved an elaborate plan to ensure safety of mother and child.
Hospital execs and a large security force worked together and a meeting was held leading up to the delivery to discuss the best course of action.
The meeting was apparently held on Friday afternoon to prepare for the singer's late night delivery on Saturday night.
So far the plan has worked with no pictures of Beyonce, Jay-Z or their relatives released of them leaving or entering the building.
The hospital is only a few miles from the Beyonce and Jay-Z's TriBeCa, Manhattan apartment, where they spend most of their time while not on tour.

The couple, who have been married since 2008, also recently bought a mansion in Miami Beach, Florida.
Within hours of baby Blue's reported arrival, one fan started up a parody Twitter account called @IvyBlueCarter, with a digitally-created image of what the baby could look like.
Last Thursday, Beyoncé emerged in public for the first time since being last spotted on December 21.
She was seen stroking her tummy as she left a New York office building escorted by a bodyguard and her mother Tina.
Beyoncé announced her pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards back in August, when she arrived on the red carpet cradling her tiny bump.
The singer also showed off her growing tummy after her onstage performance at the same ceremony - unbuttoning her sequinned jacket and rubbing her tummy.
It was originally thought she was due in February, but Beyoncé revealed in scenes from her Live At Roseland: Elements Of 4 DVD - which was filmed in September - that she was six months pregnant at the time.
