Movie review: COLUMBIANA (Samod Biobaku writes)

Movie Review: COLUMBIANA
By Samod Biobaku

Shot in the United States and Southern America, COLUMBIANA takes us into the intrigues and uncertainties of a beautiful young lady in the wilderness of fraud, sorrow, dirty cops, loneliness, regrets and a growing pile of dead bodies.

Columbiana tells a story; not a story about the terrestrial cultures of Pluto, Neptune or Saturn but the story of a little girl surrounded by the vicissitudes of crime, violence, high-level corruption and other familiar members of the twisted entourage.
The movie is realistic in its plot; yet, with an alarming measure of stunts and kick-backs.
However, the overtly predictable script of vengeance coupled with the Cinderella climax snaps the neck off what could have made a classic.
