Ikorodu Protest: Situation Report!

Coming on the heels of a peaceful protest staged by residents of Ikorodu community over the glaring failure of the Power Holding Company (PHCN) to provide electricity; thus plunging the lives of children, youths, the elderly and many others into undue hardship and misery, the PHCN has taken an official position.


According to a source who spoke to Simply Samad shortly after the protest, the PHCN has called for a peaceful meeting next week; most likely July 24 or July 25, 2012.

"We have contacts. They will fix a specific time by tomorrow," our  source revealed.

Nigerians have commended the residents of Ikorodu on the peaceful nature of the protest.

A Resident who participated in the rally explained how this was achieved.

"Soldiers were invited. We also invited the police ourselves and it went really well."
