Serena Williams Wins 5th Wimbledon Women’s Title | + Her Sexy Beach Shots
She advanced to her 7th Wimbledon final on Thursday with the defeat of Victoria Azarenka 6-3, 7-6. Williams had to turn her game around after a rather disappointing first-round defeat against Virginie Razzano at the French Open.
And that she did. The household name hit a record breaking 24 aces during her game, proving why she is considered to have the best serve in women’s tennis history.
The 13-time Grand Slam champion and No. 6 seed faced No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska to bring the 2012 Women’s Wimbledon Singles Championships to a close.
Williams’ 5th Wimbledon Women’s Title win etches her name in the history books as the first woman in her thirties to win a Grand Slam since Martina Navratilova won Wimbledon in 1990, says the New York Times.
