Beauty Pageant Loser Hires Boyfriend to Kill Dead Winner to Prove He Loves Her

The winner of the glamour competition in Cariacica, south-east Brazil, was to star in the music video of a well-known local band. Dark-haired Alini Oliveira (left), 21, beat Adayane Matias (centre), 20, to first place in the final round of the contest.

But she was shot dead in a hotel garden on September 21, just hours before the filming of the video was due to take place. The gunman according to Daily Mail was allegedly Deivid Correa, who later turned out to be the boyfriend of Matias. Matias and her dance partner Juliermeson Baston (right), 20, later confessed to planning the murder, according to the police chief.
