EFCC Freezes $.1m Asset Belonging To Retired Civil Servant


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has freezed the sum of $103,762 invested in Bermuda Island by a retired civil servant currently facing trial at a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The EFCC made this known in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren and obtained by Saturday PUNCH in the Federal Capital Territory on Friday.

Uwujaren said the action of the anti-graft body was based on a court order granted by the high court on Oct. 17, 2012.

He said, “Bermuda Island is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom in the North Atlantic Ocean, located off the east coast of the United States, it is situated around 1,770 km (1,100 miles)  Northeast of Miami, Florida.
