Gunmen Attack Hostel, Kill Two Students in Borno

A final year Law student, Halima Damcida, and another student identified simply as Abdul of the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, were killed on Saturday after some gunmen invaded a hostel outside the university premises.

The two students were in a room in the hostel along Road 202 by Bama Road when the hoodlums attacked them.


A friend of the late Damcida told PUNCH that Abdul was a 400 level student of Engineering.

She said, “Halima (Damcida) and Abdul were very close friends and Abdul had just celebrated his birthday on Thursday. She went to greet Abdul in his room when some men stormed the place and killed the two of them. They slit Halima’s throat.
