Workaholic, overambitious, short tempered and aggressive - these are some of the adjectives that are used to describe a person with type A personality. Read on to know in detail about this personality type...

When we say that someone is an extrovert or someone is introvert, have you ever thought what we are doing? Well, we are simply trying to label and classify the people according to their personality trait. Psychologists such as Carl Jung did the same when he propounded the "Personality Types" theory. This theory is nothing but classification of individuals on the basis of their psychological profile as well as personality traits.
Most of us have heard of the type A and B personality, however, if you study psychology, you will come to know that there are as many as sixteen classifications of personality types, including the type C personality and the type D personality. Here we will discuss the Type A personality in detail.

People with Type A personality are perhaps the easiest to be identified. Look around your office and see the most workaholic person, who rarely laughs, is a perfectionist, is overambitious, is very impatient with people around him and can be quite aggressive at times, that is a person who has a type A personality. Let us try to analyze them further.

Hardworking
A person with a type A personality is a very hardworking person. He will ensure that all the work is completed within the stipulated time and that too with complete efficiency. On a positive note, these are the people who get the things done. On the negative side, they can get involved in their work so much that they tend to neglect their health and personal lives.

Time-Bound
These people do not believe in wasting time. For them time is money! If you ever see a person who is getting restless waiting in a line or a boss who creates a huge ruckus just because a meeting started one minute late, could be a type A personality.

A Loner
Having this personality type can sometimes make a person very lonely. Work, limitless ambition and impatience can lead to many unsuccessful relationships in the life of such a person. Moreover, for a type A person, his work is any day more important than his relationships. Another problem with them is that they are not comfortable expressing their emotions. All these things, if not handled in time, can make a Type A person a loner.

Inflexible
Type A personality people are extremely rigid and averse to any kind of change, whether professionally or personally. They are inflexible and prefer the routines much more than any creative changes.

Short-Tempered
Another trait is that these people are very impatient, hot headed and short-tempered. As long as things are going smooth and according to plan, they are normal, however the moment they feel that something is off the mark or not going according to schedule or time, they lose their cool.

Aggressive
Being assertive is one thing and being aggressive is an all together different ball game. Type A people can be aggressive at times and even rude to people around them when put in a spot.

Overambitious
They are competitive and overtly ambitious. Someone who is ambitious to the point that relationships, people, health everything takes a back seat in his life.

Stressed
Leading such a strict and strenuous lifestyle can sometimes take its toll on type A people. These people are often stressed with various symptoms such as dark under eye circles, over sweating, tension in the face which shows itself as tight lips and a clenched jaw, etc, presenting themselves over time.

As can be seen, there are both positives and negatives of having a Type A personality. On the upside, these people make very successful professionals. On the downside, their health is badly affected with health conditions such as heart disease and hypertension pretty common among them. Social isolation is another drawback of this personality type. That's why, a person with such personality traits should take measures like undertaking stress management techniques such as meditation and breathing exercises, writing a diary everyday to find an outlet for one's feelings and making a choice to remain calm and relaxed under all situations and provocations, to enjoy the positives and ward off the negatives.

books and movies, and I don't have a quarrel with these portrayals, because the Mafia is a work of many facets. Clearly, however, newspapers need to try harder to take advantage of new technologies to tell their stories in ways that attract and involve readers, young or old. Current newspapers provide different articles in the development of the nation. But Punjabi news paper has the upper hand because almost population speaks Punjabi, the official language of Punjab. Just save your old newspapers, or get some from friends and neighbors and start packing.
