'My Husband is Obsessed With Trying to Kill Me,' Wife Accuses Hubby As She Seeks Divorce

Dark Plan

What could make a man begin to scheme out ways to send his wife to an early grave? This and many more are what judges at a Lagos court are trying to decipher as a certain Mrs. Omolara Ogunlade is asking for help.

The woman told the court Lagos that her husband was obsessed with the idea of making her kick the bucket before her time.
She disclosed that what had initially begun as harmless life threatening messages had gradually degenerated into undisguised attempts to murder her.

No longer able to hide under the canopy of matrimony, she therefore asked the court to come to her aid by dissolving her marriage.

In the divorce suit, she told the court that her once-loving husband has constantly threatened to kill her.
She might have dispelled his threats but noted that her husband’s cruel nature had always left room for unpredictable level of violence.

“You wouldn’t be able to comprehend how cruel he is. If only you knew. Most times, I just sit down and wonder if he has a heart at all. He’s so mean, persistent and dangerous.”

Though, yet give her Evidence-in-Chief, the obviously terrified woman appealed to the court to wade into the matter by legally separating her from her husband.

To underscore her claim, she noted that the man always looked forward to beating and battering her. “You’ll know when a man is just beating you to make you learn a lesson and when he’s hitting you with the intention of killing. With the way he beats me, there’s no doubt that he has a very dark plan. I won’t wait for that to happen and that’s why I have come to court.”

Besides the man’s alleged insistence to cut her life short, she also averred that her husband was fond of shunning his responsibilities as a father and husband. “He wants me dead so I really don’t expect him to care about me. What I cannot tolerate is his cold attitude towards the children as well. Mine is understandable but how do you explain his hostile attitude towards his own children?”

The woman made it clear that there was no atom of love left to hold their marriage together.

The husband, Mr. Ogunsiji Ogunlade, a resident of 20 Oladeinde Street, Oko-Oba in Lagos was absent in court.

Adjourning the matter to a later date, the court president ordered both parties to maintain absolute peace.
