Beyonce Opens Up About Her Miscarriage Devastating Time in Her Life

Beyonce usually keeps her personal life away from the spotlight, but in a rare moment she shared her pain about suffering a miscarriage. Beyonce opened up about this devastating event while being interviewed for an HBO documentary. According to Yahoo News on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, Beyonce recalls the personal devastation she went through when miscarrying a baby two years ago.

The HBO documentary that Beyonce was interviewed for is titled “Life is but a Dream.” It will air on HBO on Feb. 16. Beyonce told the interviewer she miscarried during her first pregnancy. She was overjoyed when she heard the baby’s heartbeat for the first time, never suspecting the horrific out come. She shares that the baby's heartbeat, “was the most beautiful music she ever heard in her life.”

Beyonce describes how she picked out names for that baby and she tells the interviewer that “I envisioned what my child would look like. I was feeling very maternal.” The heartbreaking news of the miscarriage came early in the pregnancy for the “Halo” singer.

Beyonce had flown back to New York for her routine check-up and there was no heartbeat. She had been to the doctor just the week before and everything was fine, “but there was no heartbeat,” Beyonce said.

Beyonce mourned through her music, which was the best way she knew how to mourn the loss of the baby. Without naming the song, Beyonce said she went to the studio and wrote the saddest song she’d ever written. This acted like therapy for the singer, who said, “it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through.”
