Did Ice Prince Really Turn Down an Endorsement Deal?

During the week, the Internet went abuzz with the news that rapper, Panshak Zamani,  popularly known as Ice Prince, turned down a mouth watering deal offered him by telecommunication company, Globacom.

The talebearers said the rapper demanded for $1m or no deal when he was approached with the offer.
It was said that the telecommunication company decided to make him  the brand’s latest ambassador because of his recent successes -the release his first official single ‘Oleku‘, his many local and international awards, and his bestselling debut album, ‘Everybody Loves Ice Prince,’ in 2011.

However, the rapper’s label, Chocolate City, dismissed any reports suggesting that he turned down an endorsement deal.

His business manager, Tobi Sanni-Daniel, said, “We were just as surprised as anybody when we read the news of  Ice Prince ‘purportedly’ turning down ‘the offer’ , especially since it isn’t true. Globacom is a multi-national company with an excellent record of accomplishment. Any individual would be proud and honoured to be associated with them.

“To say that we have turned down an endorsement deal is false and completely baseless. Ice Prince has recently been busy in the studio as he gears towards a highly anticipated album later in the year.  He has released a remix to the hugely successful ‘Aboki’ and a video for ‘Truth’ which has already gone viral.”
