Heartminders Project Celebrates 1st Anniversary with Remanded Girls on Valentine's Day

In furtherance of it's commitment to positively impact on youths across the world, Heartminders; an interactive platform for young adults has wrapped up plans to celebrate its first anniversary with two separate events expected to kick off on February 14, 2013.

According to the founder, Heartminders, Oguntuga Liz 'Jaiyefunke, the event was conceived to celebrate 365 days of making a positive impact on the lives of youths and young individuals in Nigeria and across the rest of the world.

"This is why we have chosen to celebrate love in a very special way. We have been able to create a platform where youths, teenagers and young adults can learn, interact and build healthy relationships via our 3-in-1 project; teaching (Treasured Teenz Club), Blogging (heartminders.blogspot.com) and mentoring (D Quintessential couple). We have therefore decided to celebrate our one year anniversary with two different programmes.

The event is expected to kick off on Valentine's Day with a walk with the theme: 'Walk-4-Luv.' This, in Jaiyefunke's words represents a strong voice and campaign against sexual abuse in teenagers.
Flag off time is 2pm at Ojuelegba in Lagos. "To register, we have N1,000 for singles and N1,500 for couples and all funds raised goes into buying things for the remanded girls. Participants are expected to gather at Ojuelegba area of Lagos and walk amidst music and dancing to the Lagos Special Centre for Girls, Idi-Araba, Surulere in Lagos. At the centre, we wold show love to the remanded girls and celebrate Valentine's Day with them."

She also explained that after spending time with the remanded girls, participants would be transported to D-Viginis Event Centre situated at Jibowu, Yaba axis of Lagos at 5pm for the anniversary party.

"Buses would be made available to transport all participants to the venue of the anniversary party. The dress code is a glamorous touch of red and on day 2, we would have the teens/youth empowerment programme and the official launch of the Heartminders project website."
