Day Levi Ajuonuma Was Remembered at NNPC dinner in Texas

The night turned out to be a very emotional one at the 2013 Offshore Technology Conference at NNPC Dinner, Hilton Hotels, Houston, Texas as tribute was paid to the former Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Levi Ajounuma.

The dinner which was put together by NNPC for participants of this year's Offshore Technology Conference turned emotional when the Group Managing Director, Eng. Andrew Yakubu was called upon to give a short remark.

In a solemn voice, he requested that the audience observe a minute silence in remembrance of the late Ajuonuma.

It didn’t come as a surprise when some participants in the crowd began shedding tears with some saying: "O Levi…"

Late Dr. Ajuonuma died on June 3, 2012, in a Dana Air plane crash said to be one of the world’s deadliest air disasters, which killed at least 163 people in Nigeria.
