12 Unique Things About Stella Damasus [Nollywood Actress, Singer]

Some celebrities are admired for their beauty and physical outlook, some are liked for the originality of their talent while many others are simply loved for what they represent in the minds of millions of fans all over the world.
One Nigerian celebrity who appears to have won the hearts of fans in all the afore-mentioned categories is star actress, Stella Damasus. What makes this even more interesting is the fact that in the past one decade, she has carved for herself, a niche hinged on the pillars of respect, hard work and novelty.

There is so much that’s already known about this charming actress but here are ten unique things that you probably may or may not know about this Nigerian actress and singer.

She had been a singer before she started acting and has always noted that when she came to Lagos, her first job was as a singer.

  • She was born on April 24, 1978
  • Stella Damasus was born Stella Ojukwu in Asaba in Delta State.

  • She grew up in Benin City where she had most of her primary education.

  • She has starred in over 50 movies.

  • Her first appearance in a Nigerian film was in the movie titled ‘Abused’ in 1992.

  •  In 2012, she was appointed an ambassador of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
  • She has won several awards and was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009.

  • Outside her career as a singer and actress, she has a deep-rooted passion for philanthrophic work and is affiliated to several charity organisations. 
  • Stella is a mother of 2 and was tragically widowed in December 2004 when her late husband, Jaiye Aboderin died.

  •  She had a second marriage but the union came to a sudden end and she has since relocated to Abuja from Lagos State. 
  • She released the musical video for her song, ‘Love Me Quick’ barely a week ago.
  • She is now happily married to Daniel Ademonikan; a Nollywood producer and actor
