'The Avengers 2' Villain Talks Thanos, Mark Ruffalo to Return as Hulk
Ever since Thanos
appeared during the credits of last year's The Avengers, Marvel fans have been
speculating about his role as Joss Whedon's next villain.
While Whedon is
reluctant to comment on the identity of 2015's The Avengers 2 main villain, he
did reveal that the character is male.
"I'm very
excited about the villain, and have a lot to say about him," Whedon
recently told Empire.
However, Whedon
explicitly mentions Thanos in an interview with Desde Hollywood.
"Thanos is
more powerful. He is so powerful he is not someone you can just try out and
punch him," Whedon said of the Titan. "Like he did in the comics, you
want him to be threading through the universe and to save the big finale for
the big [finale]. But he is definitely part of what I have going on."
What fans need to
remember is that there will be a third Avengers film. Desde Hollywood points
out that when Whedon says "big finale," he may not be talking about
the ending of The Avengers 2.
