First Look at Henry Cavill in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'

Just in time for the July holiday, Warner Bros. has released a new shot of Henry Cavill as patriotic do-gooder Superman — the latest picture from next summer’s ridiculously anticipated superhero showdown Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.


Based on this rain-splattered image, Justice — which costars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman — looks to be just as dark as 2013’s fan-dividing Man of Steel. Clearly, director Zach Snyder isn’t a big fan of natural sunlight. Or mild climates. Or joy.

Details on the film are being kept v v quiet, but if the title is any indication, you can expect the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight to duke it out before teaming up against Justice villain Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenberg). “I’m looking forward to that interaction [between Batman and Superman], because ultimately, they’re two sides of the same coin,” Cavill said last year, “How they clash — and how they ultimately aim towards the same goal — is going to be an interesting relationship.” We’ll find out for ourselves when Justice strikes May 6, 2016.
