As the trophy was presented to the German team, Mario Goetze began to wave a jersey up and down in celebration. Whose jersey was it?

It's was the jersey of Mario's former teammate at Borussia Dortmund and injured national team member Marco Reus.

The Dortmund star suffered a partial tear of his left ankle ligament during a friendly game against Armenia prior to the World Cup. Goetze and Reus are great friends and Mario displayed his support for his friend by carrying Marco Reus' "21" jersey around the Estadio Maracanã during the celebration.

Classy move by Mario Goetze to honor his friend, teammate, and someone who surely would have had a solid World Cup for Die Mannschaft if healthy.
