Angel di Maria wants a transfer, rejected offer from Real Madrid

Although Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos reportedly urged Real Madrid owner Florentino Perez to keep Angel di Maria, it appears that the Argentine winger is looking to leave the Santiago Bernabéu.

Speaking ahead of Friday's second leg of the Supercopa de España, manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted on Thursday that Di Maria has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave and has even rejected the offer of a new contract.

"Di Maria asked to go in the summer and has rejected an offer from the club," Ancelotti said. "The player has to look for a solution. If when the market closes he's still here, he will work with us like last season and there will be no problem.

"He's a Real Madrid player and until 31 August, as I've already said, anything can happen.

"I'm surprised to read that there seems to be some disagreement [about Di Maria] between the club and me. There's no disagreement and we both think the same."

Manchester United have been linked with Di Maria throughout the summer and are reportedly willing to spend up to £100 million on the transfer fee and wages to bring him to Old Trafford
