U2 Confirms New Album For 2014

U2 has confirmed their new album will be released in 2014.

Earlier reports claimed the record had been pushed back to 2015, but a representative for the band told Rolling Stone otherwise on Monday.

"We've always said an album is expected this year," the rep said.

U2 released their 12th studio album, No Line on the Horizon, in 2009. The album had sold 1.1 million copies in the U.S. as of March, and includes the singles "Get On Your Boots," "Magnificent" and "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight." The new record is expected as early as September.

"Bono played me the new record a year ago, and I heard some amazing things," producer Daniel Lanois told the Toronto Sun last week. "I can only imagine what they've done between now and then. I can't wait to hear it myself."

U2 planned to begin a new tour in support of the album in September, but it has been pushed back to summer 2015.
